Hello Pita, thanks for taking the time to do the interview, and let’s start things off by introducing yourself to the Chinese fans here.
Hello Zhi Li! Its my plesure to do interviews for the Chinese fans. For you who dont know me, my name is Faruk Pita. Im 20 years old and I live in Sweden. I play CS 1.6 for fnaticMSi, and I go under the nickname “pita”.
we last saw you guys was losing to ESC-Gaming on GameGune? What went wrong in the match?
A lot of things went wrong that game. We lost some really stupid situations, for example loosing 1v3, and some other situations. I dont think it was lack of communication.. It was just some unlucky situations that we could have had.
Since fnatic won IEM5 European Finals you guys had not do well in big tournaments. What do you think was the reason for the lack of success in recent tournaments?
One thing is that on the European Finals we were unpredictable. Teams didnt know what to expect from us and therefore we just could execute the rounds in the way we wanted. However, when you win a big tournament, alot of other teams start to study you. And thats what happend to us. Also we didnt perform good individually, which also was a reason that we didnt get to that level we had at the European Finals.
cArn played great in European Finals but since then had not produced similar performances in matches. Do you think it could be his lack of passion after he proved in the European Finals that he win it all play without f0rest or GeT_RiGhT?
cArn did play extremly well in the European Finals, but I dont think its his fault that we didnt perform good during other tournaments. It was the whole team, and we will prove in the future that fnaticMSi can be without its stars in form of f0rest & GeT_RiGhT.
Delpan left for SK and dsn had to take back the green weapon again. Do you think with his age, he could still compete with all the young and upcoming snipers in the world?
dsn is one of the best AWPers in the world. And he has so much ruotine while playing with it. He knows how to handle a certain situation, something that the new upcomers dont have. We all know how good he is with it, he just need to get back to his form he had before Delpan joined, because when Delpan joined, dsn gave the AWP 100% to Delpan.
You mentioned in your recent interview that you are improving because of “a little secret”. Would you mind at least giving a hint to what that secret is?
Hehe, alot of people has been asking what the secret is. I would love to tell people about my secret so they can develope and become better. But if I would do that, people would get better and then eventually maybe beat us ;). As long as Im playing, I will keep it a secret. When I retire, I will let everyone know!
In your last blog you said that given time the new fnatic could achieve the same amount of success as the old fnatic did in 2009. How long do you think you guys could be prepared to do that?
I hope that we have reached the point where we can start winning. But I dont want to hope for so much. Hopefully it will come with time. And I hope it will be soon!
How is fnatic preparing for the upcoming E-Stars, where almost every single good team in the world will be present?
We have been playing everyday except Fridays and Saturdays. Individually and also teamwise. Trying to repair all the mistakes we did during Gamegune. And also going into more details, since we have started to learn eachothers playstyle.
In Seoul you guys will meet UMX.tw first on de_inferno. Do you think it will be a difficult match to prepare since they are relatively unknown outside of Asia?
For me it will be hard, because I havent played Asian teams that much, and I have a bad experience against Asian teams. But my friends in the team has played Asian teams alot, and I hope they can provide me the experience I need to be able to beat them. However we know that UMX is a really good team, and I hope both teams will play a good game so the community can enjoy the game.
If you guys beat UMX， you could be facing SK（given that lunatic-hai do not upset）in the second round on de_nuke. Since f0rest and GeT_RiGhT went to SK you guys lost to them on nuke every time. What could you guys do to change that?
I dont really know, I havent thought about that match so much beacuse I first want to beat UMX. UMX is a good team and I dont want to underestimate them. Because If I would answer this question, and then lose to UMX – I will end up like the biggest fool ever :-).
What will be fnatic’s goal and expectations in the E-STARS?
To get good results and get back at the throne where fnaticMSi once were!
You guys won the qualifier for IEM6 Guangzhou and earned a spot on that tournament. Will you guys attend that tournament and other IEM stops such as New York and others?
We will attend the Guangzhou tournament 100%. fnaticMSi has always had a good relationship with the Chinese community, and thats something we want to continue having. New York is something we wont be attending, since we will be enyoing China instead!
We know that WCG requires all five players to have the same nationality. Are we still able to see the complete fnatic line-up in this year’s WCG?
Yes, because I have a Swedish citizenship, and Im able to play for Sweden in WCG!
Valve a few days ago announced that they are working on a new version of CS in CS:Go. With the reports coming out, do you have any thoughts on whether it could replace 1.6 in the e-sports world?
I dont know. I think that as it is right now, they should let more CS 1.6 players come to their headquarters and develop the game so that it can benefit from the 1.6 community. Because as we all know the 1.6 community is big. And for Valve to produce another CSS version would be to shoot themselves in the foot. So I hope we can manage to make a good game so both communitys can gather and make it to a bigger community.
Any last word to the Chinese fans?
Thanks for all the support from China. The best fans live in China, and we all appreciate your support so much. You find true fans in China, wheter we play good or bad, you are always with us, and thats something we value very much. Hope to see you guys in Guangzhou in October, and hope to speak to you guys and hang out. Take care and hope to see you! :) 再见
